Panty Cookies

Image
I got a great idea from Pinterest for a bridal shower treat.  I was looking for some decoration ideas and instead came upon these "tushy cookies." It looked like a pretty easy craft.  All you needed was a heart cookie cutter, then once you cut the heart, you chop the pointy point off and turn it upside down to create a tush shape. I had been talking to my sister-in-law all day and mentioned these to her.  She admitted she wasn't 100% loving the idea at first but she came around and said she would help out.  Friday night we went out to dinner with my family and as soon as we got home we got started on baking and decorating.  It was a whole family affair.  Carrie and I baked and decorated, then got Katie to help out with the decorating.  It looked like so much fun that Brett decided to try it out, and then Chris gave in to temptation and created his own masterpiece.  Although you can't see it really well in the picture, due to Dad's request, I did d...

I cooked again!

Image
I'm not writing this post because I cooked a fancy, extravagant meal. I didn't. I am simply writing this post because I cooked. Go ahead, judge me! I know it is something I need to work on, but in the meantime I am going to celebrate every success! Tonight I made parmesan tilapia with cheesy rice and grilled asparagus. It's an easy meal but I love it!

Invitations

Ok, so I had to squeeze one more craft in before my two week break is officially over. I made these invitations to my best friend, Abby's bridal shower. They turned out cute, and hopefully are the close enough to her colors (there are like 50 different ideas of what "robin egg blue" looks like on the Internet).

Credit

I need to give credit where credit is due with those baby shoes.  I couldn't figure out how to add a link using my phone, so here is the blog I used to make those shoes.

Baby shoes

This post has two purposes: First, to show off these cute baby shoes I made using a pattern I found on pinterest; and second, to see how the blogger app on my phone works. It's amazing what projects I am getting done in my time off. Unfortunately, I am still not getting much cooking done. Maybe I will make that a New Years resolution.

Christmas Crafts

Image
I always get these great craft ideas before Christmas.  Each year we get some big project going.  Two years ago we took on the project of making University of Utah cornhole boards for Chris's sister and brother-in-law.  This year, we made them new UofU bean bags for their boards.  I didn't get a picture of those, but I did get a picture of some of the other crafts I made.  For my brother and sister-in-law, we made a Birthday Board. Chris and I also made onsies for Misty and Carrie's babies, both due in April.

Christmas Eve - Warning: It's a Novel

It's hard to see, but this is one blood-splattered door. Another war-zone Zoro's ear with a chunk removed The removed chunk The crate Zoro tore through Jack and Zoro This year, both Chris and I had a few days off before Christmas together.  We were pretty on top of things and had all of our Christmas shopping done BEFORE Christmas Eve!  I was pretty proud of us.  We were boarding a dog, Zoro, who is just a little smaller than Jack, but has 10x the energy. Saturday morning came, and  we had a busy day planned.  We were supposed to get all of our stuff packed up since we were going to spend the night at my parents' house, get the two dogs ready for the day, take all of our stuff (minus the dogs) to my parents' house in Sandy, go to a movie with Chris's family in Holladay, open presents at Chris's mom's house in Murray, come back to Riverton to pick up the dogs, and then drive back to have dinner and spend the rest of the evening with my ...
